Assembly Videos and Safety Notes

Follow these instructions carefully to ensure safe usage of your new tow bar mounted motorbike carrier.

MX Carrier Instructions

You must secure your bike from at least four points, you must use MX Tie Downs or Ratchet Straps from your bikes frame or handlebars or triple clamp to the secondary tie down points on the main bar into the hitch.

DO NOT rely solely on the hardware to the foot pegs.

The MX Carrier main bar into the receiver has two sets of tie down points each side of the bike, one set for hardware to the pegs, another set for straps off the frame, handlebars, triple clamp etc. Using a set of straps as well as the hardware to the foot pegs provides a backup to stop your bike falling off the carrier if something fails.

If you use the hardware to the bikes foot pegs, once you load your bike you must use the supplied strap through the turnbuckles to prevent them vibrating loose.

We have a new version of the Anti Tilt Bracket, no longer using the U Bolt as shown in the video.

Click on the Anti Tilt Bracket Instructions link below to see the new version.

Adventure Bike Carrier Instructions

You must secure your bike from at least six points, you must use Tie Down Straps, MX Tie Downs, Safety Lines, from your bikes frame or handlebars or another secure point to the secondary tie down points on the bike carrier.

DO NOT rely solely on the hardware to the foot pegs.

With Adventure bikes you should be securing to at least three points each side of the bike.

If you use the hardware onto the bikes pegs you must also strap off the bikes frame each side – you must also run a strap through the turnbuckles to prevent them vibrating loose.

PLUS a set off the forks, handlebars up front also. The straps off the forks I pull down 10mm, they are a double back up.

OR strap off the crash bars each side.

This means you’ve secured the bike off the pegs, frame, triple clamp or crash bars, three points each side of the bike.

See videos below.

Pin 4. RH Ind – Yellow

Sports Carrier Instructions

You must secure your bike from at least six points, that’s three each side of the bike as per below.

With Sport bikes you should be running at least 3 points each side so that will be your backup / safety line also.

You can strap off the bikes frame each side.

Tyre Downs on the rear tyre are also effective.

Straps off the handlebars – Handlebar Harness – we pull down 5mm, they are a double back up.

Refer to videos on Sports PRODUCT page.

All the bolts are in this carrier where they need to be.

You only need to remove the three M12 x 170 in the centre to fit the Bike Channel to the Main Bar into your tow bar.

NOTE:

We keep the tolerance as tight as we can between these 2 parts, if the Bike Channel will not drop into the Main Bar just nip up 1 of the M10 x 170 bolts in the bracing to the very right.

This will squeeze the Bike Channel assembly together and help drop in.

If that doesn’t work then nip up one of the M10 x 170 bolts that the front Tie Down Bracket bolts to.

Once the Bike Channel drops into the Main Bar you will probably need to loosen the M10 x 170’s you just tightened to allow the M12 bolts to slide through the assembly.

MULTI Carrier Assembly Tips

Always run a Safety Line, secondary Tie Down from the inside of your bike back to your vehicle or to the extra tie down point on the carrier.

With Scooters, Mopeds, Road bikes you should be running at least 2 points each side, preferably 3 straps each side, so that will be your backup / safety line.

The Multi can be assembled to load from the LH or RH side.

Bikes without a clutch, Scooters, Mopeds we usually load from LH / Pass side.

Bikes with a clutch we load from RH / Drivers side.

LH – Pass side loading

When you store the ramp the gal cup head bolt goes right through the bike carrier and pins through the ramp also.

When you load the bike the gal cup head locks the ramp on the back of the carrier.
